Classic Thanksgiving Stuffing

It will never be thanksgiving in our home without this Classic Thanksgiving Stuffing. It's the one side dish I can't live without and this recipe is addicting! I warned you now! I like to use my homemade chicken stock but feel free to use your favorite store bought variety. I'll link my chicken noodle soup recipe below which will walk you though my homemade version. It will turn out amazing either way, I promise!
Ingredients
- 12 cups of small bread cubes
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 small onion diced
- 3 stalks of celery diced
- 1/4 cup finely chopped parsley
- 1/2 tbsp finely minced sage
- 1/2 tbsp minced rosemary
- 3/4 tbsp thyme
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 2 cups chicken stock
Directions
- Step 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Step 2 In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Step 3 Add onion and celery. Cook until softened.
- Step 4 Add fresh herbs, garlic powder, and salt. Cook 1 minute.
- Step 5 Once finished, transfer to a large bowl. Add chicken stock and then egg. Whisk until fully incorporated.
- Step 6 Add bread cubes and mix/toss until evenly coated.
- Step 7 Transfer to 9X13 greased casserole dish. Cover with foil.
- Step 8 Cook in preheated oven for 35 minutes.
- Step 9 After 35 minutes, remove foil and cook an additional 10-15 minutes or until browned.
