Who doesn't love traditional and heart warming Biscuits and Gravy? This classic is perfect for a weekend morning when you can properly sit down and savor every bite. It's easy, quick, and less calories than your traditional Biscuits and Gravy. We use skim milk in place of whole milk or heavy cream. Skim milk is known to break or curdle easily due to its low fat content. However, if you whisk flour into the milk before adding it to your dish, it will not break! Another trick is to pull your skillet off the heat as you're adding the flour and milk mixture. Lastly, we name specific brands for some of the ingredients but feel free to use your favorites. This recipe is extremely adaptable and user friendly! Let's get to it!

Ingredients
  • 1 can 8 ct Annies Flaky Biscuits
  • 1 16oz package Tennessee Pride Mild Breakfast Sausage
  • 1tsp fennel seed
  • 1/8th teaspoon ground sage
  • 1/2 tsp McCormick Roasted Garlic and Herb (or garlic powder)
  • 2 cups skim milk
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • salt and pepper to taste
Directions
  • Step 1 Cook biscuits according to package directions.
  • Step 2 Meanwhile, heat a skillet over medium heat.
  • Step 3 Once hot, add sausage and spices. Cook until browned and crumbled.
  • Step 4 In a small bowl, whisk milk and flour together.
